CyberImaging Develops Color software for Laboratoires Garnier

Computerized kiosk allows consumers to ‘virtually’ experiment with haircolours

RALEIGH, NC, November 1, 1999. To celebrate the millennium Cyber Imaging Systems, Inc.™ and Laboratoires Garnier are joining forces to present a colour event in Superdrug Stores throughout the United Kingdom during November. In the top 10 Superdrug locations, consumers will be helped by a demonstrator to devise a new look, experimenting with hair colour via a CyberImaging touch-screen unit which shows different hair colours. The consumer will choose a model with a look closest to their own and then try new looks. Alongside the unit there will be free experimentation with Maybelline products.

The base technology, developed by Cyber Imaging Systems of Raleigh, NC, uses a computer-imaging program that allows clients to "virtually try-on" a new look, including a vast selection of wigs. The computer simulation captures a digital record of the salon client’s face then applies new styles or hair color in a digital full-color portfolio as she or he would appear "wearing" those selections.
